I am very proud to announce that Hero Mages for Android received the award for Technical Excellence in indiePub's 2010 Mobile Competition.  It's a funny story- I woke up this morning early for some reason, and then I hear this chime on my phone from Google alerts indicating that they found a new hit for "Hero Mages" on their search engine.  Normally, these emails are just links to torrent spam sites, but to my delightful surprise, it was a link to the indiePub contest results: https://eon.businesswire.com/news/eon/20101215005352/en/indiePub-Announces-Mobile-Games-Competition-Winners.

I was in pure awe.  It took a crazy struggle of sleepless nights to make the contest deadline, but this makes it so worth it.

I feel blessed, honored, and truly grateful.  Thank you indiePub and Zoo Games for your recognition and generosity!  Your passion and commitment to the indie developer is unparalleled.

I’d also like to thank all those who contributed to the game- Oray Studios for character illustrations and animations, The Recordist for sound effects, my brother Mark for music, Scott Szczesniak for the Minotaur illustration, my friends and family for their love and support, SmartFox and Adobe for the development platforms, Games Press and the countless media websites for their articles and reviews, and the 5125 Hero Mages members for playing the game!  And, a most special thanks to Kelly, my beloved wife, for all your love and support and believing me.

This marks an important milestone for D20Studios.  And if you think this is cool, just wait to see what we have in store for the Independent Propellar Awards at SXSW Competition.

Congratulations to Spry Fox and Radial Games for winning the grand prize with Steam Birds and the other category winners as well!
