Suggestions & Comments / Re: Show who is spectating
July 30, 2009, 05:47:21 AM MT
@Joshua you're refering to when we're in a game lobby no?  That could be useful yes =)

Also I push for an amendment where even when a game has started, players can spectate other games already in play and observe, this way they have something to do during downtime when there aren't many players not in a game already or aren't online.

Suggestions & Comments / Re: See your teammate's card

It may be a bit of a help when planning a strategy or setting up a move with your teammates.  But depending on where this information is placed, it may be overwhelming and distracting from your own decisions, esp with a 1 minute timer for your turns.

Suggestions & Comments / Re: Chat Rooms
July 30, 2009, 05:40:34 AM MT
This would be awesome.  Having to leave a game to find additional players can get annoying.  Also, i would also like to see some way to tell when other people have joined the servers, such as a text in the chat log that states a player has logged on/off, so that even if you are in a game lobby and you switch to the main lobby chat, you can tell who's on or if anyone else is on and looking for games.

To help with spam or in case someone has internet issues, as I've had in the past, there should be an option to turn this function on and off in the lobby.

I like Jaels idea of a seperate box for the log somewhere on the screen where you can watch the results of the battle and see everything.  But I also see where problems can arise (redoing of the interface, text sizing, overwhelming information for new players).

As for the original question, I also agree there should be a seperate text showing the results of a dice roll somewhere on the screen.  Opening the log to see what people rolled can get annoying when you're in the heat of battle.

Suggestions & Comments / Re: Revive teammates
July 30, 2009, 05:33:37 AM MT
This is actually something I was thinking about.

I personally think this idea would be neat, as if your ally is getting beaten up, you can give him a second chance by reviving one of his guardians.  Of course this also has the issue of what characters to revive and where to revive them.

But I think the system has potential.  It should however be limited to the Revive card, not added as an additional card.  Otherwise I see no fault in this.

Suggestions & Comments / Re: Random card drops
July 30, 2009, 05:28:59 AM MT
I can see this as a feasible addition.  It adds a small layer of strategy planning as you now have a choice to break any formations you have to pick up a random card, or forgo it in favor of a strategy.

As for my two cents, maybe you can also make cards that provide instant boosts to a character, instantly adding the effect to the player.  Such as augmentations, summons, and other beneficial spells.  They would immediatly be used and provide a chance for an ailing player to make that one last stand!  I've played some games where players only had to run from opponents and matches would drag on in a cat-and-mouse style play.  It'll add a new level of strategy and provide for some interesting late-game moments.

that's my two cents on this, and agree that this would be an interesting addition to the game =)  I vote yes!

Meeting Place / Konnichiwah! ~Jonathan~
July 30, 2009, 05:19:39 AM MT
Greetings everyone!  My name's Jonathan and I'm known as Crimson Avenger =D

I'm an avid gamer of all genres (Except sports... can't stand it =/).  I Live in New York, out on Long Island (used to live in NYC but moved out here last year) and am currently going to school to learn computer programming! I do plan to one day create and program my own games, as that's my future goals.

As for now, just getting by in school and playing on Xbox Live.  If you have Live, look me up! I'm known as Pr0toCo1BraV0!  Heck that's where I met Ross and learned about this fantastic game!  Look to see you on the battlefield!

Meeting Place / Re: Boast your Gaming Heritage
July 30, 2009, 05:15:20 AM MT
I've always found myself particular to Strategy games (Command and Conquer, Dawn of War, Age of Empires), FPS (Halo series, Call of Duty Series), RPGs and JRPGs (Fable 2, Infinite Undiscovery, The Last Remnant, Eternal Sonata), and other games that fall into various categories.

I've recently expanded my repitore into the Japanese market as well, so I'm getting around ;P.  As for board games, I'm a fan of table-top strategy games such as Risk.  I too plan to start a Warhammer 40K army so that'd be fun having an army of little guys in my basement heh.

I'm always looking to expand my repitore!

Meeting Place / Re: POLL: Scheduled Gaming Times
July 30, 2009, 05:09:41 AM MT
I third the motion.  I'm mostly good for nights as that's when I'm free the most, but I can't really vote as I'm currently looking to expand my hours (read: looking for a job XD) but I'm game for game nights! =)

Battle Blog / Re: Obligatory Awesome Move Thread
July 30, 2009, 05:07:15 AM MT
Just finished a match with Ross and Jkim, and had my Air Elemental survive attack after attack after attack from Ross's Skeles, magic, and attacks!  We lasted a good 10 rounds before he was finally taken out by a cheap shot with a skele XP

My worst moment? Having a player's last character cornered by two summons and my two guardians, only to have my game crash ='{... that wasn't fun for me =P

Game Balance / Re: Being 1st player on a timed battle
July 30, 2009, 04:54:51 AM MT
I second that motion from Joshua.

Keeping the player's hands empty until it's their turn balances the game immensly without having to add timers or anything else.
