I am not sure it should be a blanket Valor based rule, as currently I think most early valor is generated by summons, fireballs etc. I think that kind of play is still fun, throwing your peeps straight into the battle like that.

However, I am not adverse to the idea of having a Valor Class Spell, where certain spells are valor restricted, or a particular school of spells (I'm looking at you manipulation...), which require 3 valor before you are able to cast them.

The FM is more mistake forgiving then the other mages.

The higher Defense, the decent attack, and unstunability mean that you can misplace him on the board and survive the next round to run away and heal. Or close for the kill.

You can't do that with the other mages. Any other mage that you use, if you misclick, or place them in a vunerable position, they will get taken out. There is much less margin for error with the summoner, wizard and sorceress.

The FM is certainly the easist to use, and the easist to learn with.

Personally, I find the unstunability the most useful, because it means that no matter what, the FM can always perfom an action on your turn. And I think that is invaluable in a game like this.

Yeah cool. I thought that's how it worked.

Can we get that explained specifically in the rules page? I had assumed that we had recieved 50 cards each, however upon watching those little numbers down the left side I realised that didn't add up. It only took me 50 or so games to get my head straight about what was happening with the magic... *cough*

It is an interesting strategic aspect of the game, and I think it could be explained better in the rules. I think its always good to have these types of things set down in the rules so there is no room for argument. I grew up in a family that had 5 kids... and if it wasn't written specifically in the rules it was open to debate. And by debate, I mean fisty-cuffs. Hahaha.

There were three of us in a game setup, and then we decided to leave and let me set up a new game with one of the maps I've designed.

I think we all may have hit  "Exit Game" at the exact same time, and now I'm frozen on the Processing Request screen.

Will restart the app and see whats what.

General Chat / Magic Deck -- Clarification

We have a deck of 50 spells yes?

Is this a personal deck, or is it a shared deck between all players in the game?

By that, do I mean there are 50 spells in the game, regardless of how many players are in there, or is it 50 per player.

If it is the former, does that mean that if I hold on to all the summons cards, the opposition summoner is denied access to those?

Yep, remember to ensure it's a "reminder" sound and not an "alarm" sound. There's nothing more frustrating then to be working on something in another browser while someone is sending you a horde of pm's and having them smacking you in the face everytime they do so. It's also a wee bit awkward if your boss is in the room trying to explain that you need to make better use of your time...

But yes, a nice little chime would be nice. I see from the player enter and exit sounds in the lobby that you've already got a handle on this concept though, so no worries eh? hahaha.

Considering how often we sit idle in the lobby waiting for someone to come in, often perusing other websites, checking emails etc, I thought it might be a good idea to have a little chime sound when someone sends us a pm.

That way if people are hanging about and want to check if I am still around, then they could send me a pm to alert me to the fact that peeps are in the lobby waiting for me.

It'd be nifty to be able to send players pm's from chat as well I think. So you can communicate from the lobby to players in game via pm's. There might already be a way to do this, but I haven't worked it out yet.

I am starting to think that the teleport combos are occuring too often. Losing your mage that early to one of those, even before you've had your turn, is depressing.

I think barricade is a nifty little strategic gem which doesn't seem to be used enough. I'd be happy to see another one of those in the deck.

Nope. They've been there frozen over my game this entire match. We're still duking it out in the second match, I just have frozen dice over my entire screen.

Also... we don't have dice active in this match. Perhaps that makes a difference?
