sami- passive ability

I feel guilty posting this considering i won the battle, but A.) I would have won much faster- B.) Its something i need to know if i'm misinterpreting.

Skippy's Fighter Mage casts Group Heal
Skippy's Fighter Mage recovers 2 life
Skippy's Rogue recovers 2 life
Skippy's Rogue attacks Turkish's Fighter Mage with  dice roll of [10,7,10]
Skippy earns 1 of 3 possible Valor for attacking enemy units this round
Turkish's Fighter Mage loses 0 life
Skippy's Fighter Mage uses Flash on (8, 7)
Skippy's Fighter Mage casts Iron Golem on (6, 7)
Skippy's Fighter Mage attacks Turkish's Fighter Mage with  dice roll of [14,9,12,13]
Skippy earns 2 of 3 possible Valor for attacking enemy units this round
Turkish's Fighter Mage loses 0 life

maybe i put in too much, but i wanted you to see the turn before mine, to assure there were no buffs to the rogue.  In theory, with the samurai getting the plus 2 damage to attacks, there should have been 5 damage done. (same number of hp of the rogue). Now i may have been confused, but is that to a max of 3 damage, at which point, the passive ability is only to ensure that if you roll one above def you do 3 damage regardless? just hoping someone can clarify that. i have the whole game log, if you'd like it. let me know.

Turkish, no need to worry- this is not a bug.  One of the game rules is that total damage may never exceed the strength of the attacker.

thank you for clearing that up for me Ross. there is still much to learn, i suppose.

Yea, however you give the sami buffs (up to 7 STR) he can do up to 7 damage. This is why disentigrate (6dice +2) will never do more than 6 (unless used by a sorc).

i'm seeing the error of my ways. i read the forums like mad, but alot of the basic stuff i missed. sad:( i know. I also see why that makes sense. Thanks guys. Just have to start buffing ol' Sami even more! :)
