Title: Adobe Flash finally being discontinued on Android
Post by: VanHlebar on June 29, 2012, 05:20:01 PM MT
Hi Ross:

I just saw an article today that said that Flash is going to be dead and not even able to be installed on new device from the Play store after Aug 15th. How will this impact Hero Mages if at all?

I know you use Adobe but wasn't sure if their discontinued support will have any impact.

VanHlebar, Ross links with the Adobe Air library, but he can better answer that...

I'm posting because I was wondering what the article said, if anything, would be used for streaming - to take Flashes place.  Please don't tell me we will have to rely on SilverLight.

Can you post a link to the article?

Hey guys, I believe you are referring to this: https://blogs.adobe.com/flashplayer/2012/06/flash-player-and-android-update.html (https://blogs.adobe.com/flashplayer/2012/06/flash-player-and-android-update.html)

So that everyone is clear, Adobe is not discontinuing Flash, they are discontinuing Flash player for mobile browsers. On mobile devices, Flash will continue to be supported as applications using Adobe AIR. Rest assured, Hero Mages will be supported for many years to come.
