does cripple  effect the unit if buffed with shield ?

Yes Help, but Since shiled gives +10 DEF and cripple does -4 (-5 for FM)

He would still gain a bonus of 6/5 Def. So if a Wizard (12 defense) uses shield = 20 (22).

After cripple it drops down to 18 (22-4 = 18).
