Ability 2: (1 card): {Defender} +1 Defense to each visible ally, -1STR to Dwarven Brawler, until the end of players next turn.

Hero - Dwarven Rune Lord
(3 STR; 15 DEF; 6 Life)
Passive Ability: Dwarven Rune Lord's presence inspires nearby troops. +1 DEF to adjacent allies. (Presence bonus does not apply to Rune Lord).
5 Valor: (1 card): {Rally} Dwarven Lord blows his Battle Horn, all visible allies recieve +1STR until the end of their turn.
10 Valor: Passive: Dwarven Rum -- Imbues allies with a sense of greatness. +1 to all allies attack dice rolls.

Thought I should give a defensive themed cohort a whirl. We have elves, so why not some smelly dwarves eh? Hahaha.

Bugs & Support / Dissappearing Magic Cards
August 26, 2009, 11:39:13 AM MT
If you have the Line of Sight button down when your turn starts, then all your magic cards dissappear, and the line of sight button becomes inactive.

To bring them back, you need to reactivate the LOS button, then turn it off again.

Game Balance / Re: Warriors protect WAI?

I think it was a neat, clever solution. My current thoughts are that guardians should not be able to use any of these types of abilities on themselves -- making your hero mage that much more integral.

I think these types of measures ensure good fast gameplay, and I am all for that.

This one is Sun Dial.

I got to test this last night just before I went to bed. It was a great battle, the movement around the map was surprisingly circular... hahaha. We danced around, switched sides. The entire map got used, which was great to see.

Feature Requests / Forum Link from the Game
August 25, 2009, 01:13:46 AM MT
Hello,

I spend a lot of idle time waiting in the lobby for peeps to log in, and I spend much of this time reading and re-reading the information here on the forums.

At the moment, if I forget to make my forum tab before I get into the game, I need to click on one of the news links or make a new tab and manually bring up the forums that way.

It would be very groovy if there was a little forum link in the game itself. Everything else I need is already made available to me from the game (profile, stats, etc). I think something like this might increase forum activity and feedback as well eh?

Duck n Cover

I suspect I'm putting too much cover in all of these, but I'll work that out with some testing. I think points of cover with good open areas are probably the way to go.

I think the map choke point would be quite intense though.

Hello.

I've been spending much of my time online on my own. I'm in Sydney and most of you peeps are asleep when I get home from work. But it's all good. I've been fiddling around with the map editor.

I haven't been able to test any of these, but I thought I'd throw them up here anyway.

Feature Requests / Re: AFK button.

Yeah, my thoughts on auto-booting come from the my experiences in other online turn based games. Someone loses their prized unit early on, so they walk away from the computer. You are then forced to play out the game alone, and sit through the turn timer during the opposition turn, while they make themselves a sandwich.

In this game, these types of scenarios would be over quite quickly enough I am sure, but it is still a frustration which will occur as the game grows in popularity. There are a lot of tools out there, and we all know that they will turn up here eventually. I think having measures in place to minimize the kind of bitter gameplay I've seen elsewhere would prove fruitful here.

I think if you are unresponsive for 2 turns in a row, then you should automatically forfiet. I think part of what is great about this game is the ability to get in and play a game quickly.  I'm all for measures that insure we can do that.

Feature Requests / Re: Named Mages and Guardians

On a similar note, it could be kind of cool if our favorite character, taken from our profile page (I assume this is most used character?) was used as a title for the player.

So if I love to use my barbarian, then I would be known as Finjinimo the Barbarian on my profile page.

Finjinimo the Rogue etc.

I think something like that might be a bit funky too.

Feature Requests / Named Mages and Guardians
August 24, 2009, 09:10:05 AM MT
I've grown quite fond of my rogue... and all my little fellows. I see already that we are tracking their performance, games played etc.

I'm inclined to give my little peeps nicknames anyway, so I thought it would be kind of groovy if there was a way we could explore this in game.

Perhaps it could be accomplishment based. So when a unit has managed to kill 100 others, you unlock the ability to give them a nickname which appears in game, and on their stat card.

There would have to be guidelines to make sure that the names given were not offensive and what not.

I just think a way to give our troops a little personal touch would add something quite groovy to this game.

Meeting Place / Re: Newish

Hello Turkish and Maestro!

I was in a game with both of these fellows last night, and it was certainly the most epic battle I have played here yet. We all went at it in a true free for all, and watched as the battle favor swayed back and forth between all three. It was intense! Hahaha.

And a pleasure to meet you both and game with you.

Feature Requests / Re: Invites and Lobby
August 24, 2009, 01:43:57 AM MT
Yep, at the moment I sit in the lobby, and if a game is open I'll pop my head in to see who is in there. Being able to see who created the game, and who is currently in there, and even who is currently in battle... would be very nifty.

And a buddy list would be great!

Also its more fun to not know what the cards are as you watch, so you dont know what to expect.

Yep, I think that's right on the money as well.
